Training for Botanic to Bridge
THE Botanic to Bridge Fun Run is coming up on Sunday, August 22 starting at the Tondoon Botanic Gardens.
Entrants can either walk or run and can choose from an 8km or a 3km course to complete.
Gladstone Ports Corporation Community Support Officer Benita Paterson said the Botanic to Bridge was a community event to get people active and moving.
“A bit of training beforehand will help entrants and maybe they will do a bit better after training,” Paterson said.
“Gladstone Ports Corporation are providing free training for their employees that register for the Botanic to Bridge and about 50 employees are taking part in the training sessions.”
Keen runner Brendan Jones said the training would help him perform better on the day.
“I'm aiming at putting in three training sessions a week,” he said.
