Traffic delays as WICET project expands section of road

TRAFFIC driving past the Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal site is being delayed on Monday, as the project expands a section of the Gladstone-Mt Larcom Rd.

A spokeswoman for WICET said works would continue into Tuesday, with delays of up to 15 minutes as the west-bound road is resurfaced.

Both two-lane carriageways, including a second bridge, is expected to be opened to traffic by the end of the week.

Minor works with reduced speed zones will continue until December 20.
