Traffic delays expected at Boyne Island on Tuesday

MOTORISTS have been warned there may be traffic delays on Centenary Drive, Boyne Island on Tuesday as Gladstone Regional Council carries out road resurfacing work.

Engineering services portfolio spokesman Rick Hansen said traffic disruptions would be kept to a minimum but delays and detours were likely.

Dependent on weather, work will occur along Centenary Drive from its intersection with Malpas St to Stokes St, from 6am on Tuesday to 6am on Wednesday.

"Some road profiling work will be undertaken outside of peak traffic times on Tuesday, and motorists should expect traffic control measures and road disruptions throughout the 24-hour period," Cr Hansen said.

"As this is a busy section of the Boyne Island and Tannum Sands road network, night work has been incorporated to reduce inconvenience to the community."

The works are part of $3 million of asphalt resurfacing work to be carried out on council roads across the region from February to April.
