Traditional land owners in talks
THE Murribindi agreement is the largest set of Aboriginal agreements in Australia's resources history.
There are currently 42 individual agreements with Aboriginal people for the GLNG project.
Aboriginal agreements and conditions are now in place from Gladstone to Roma.
The Murribindi agreement covers the GLNG pipeline corridor roughly between the Expedition Range in the west and the Dawson Range in the east.
Along with native title and cultural heritage considerations, the Santos team is working closely with traditional owners to discuss important topics such as employment, training and enterprise development.
Three hundred jobs will be created for indigenous people who live along the pipeline route.
GLNG is a joint venture between Santos and Malaysia's PETRONAS.
