Toowoomba responds to family tragedy at Biddeston
THE Toowoomba community has reacted with genuine concern to a call for help from a family devastated by an apparent murder-suicide.
Donations have been received at Burstows funeral home in the wake of the Biddeston tragedy which claimed the lives of 52-year-old Derek Sharpley, his 27-year-old daughter Kris-Deann Sharpley and her seven-year-old son Jackson Sharpley-Knapp.
The trio will be farewelled at the HumeRidge Church of Christ on Tuesday next week.
Their bodies were found by a family member in Mr Sharpley's Biddeston home on March 2.
Police believed their deaths had occurred the night before.
A staff member at Burstows said there had been a number of donations made towards the cost of the family's funeral and people had reacted with genuine concern.
The funeral home is still taking donations.
Anyone wishing to help out can call the home on 4636 9600.
