Too wet for rodeo at Calliope

THE Calliope Rodeo has been postponed because of the wet weather.

Organiser Lisa Coates said that with the recent heavy rain the rodeo had now been postponed until October 30.

Though it was an inconvenience, Ms Coates was hoping the event would still get a big turnout.

“We still have the numbers and all the competitors are still locked in,” Ms Coates said.

There are some great bull riders coming down for the rodeo, including Australian professional Ben Seeds.

There was more than $15,000 in prize money to be won, and there was a new trophy on offer.

No tickets have been pre-purchased and those wanting to go can buy tickets on the night.

Tickets cost $12 per adult, $6 for high school students and pensioners, and children under 12 are free.
