Tom and Jeremy back to their best

TIME off from touring has given Tom Busby and Jeremy Marou time to reflect.

The "olden days" of a couple of pub stools, two guitars and two best mates propped up against the wall of the Oxford 'Oxy' Hotel has inspired Busby Marou to return to their musical roots.

After almost a year from performing back home, the duo will return to Rockhampton on Friday, June 26 for a very special acoustic performance at the Pilbeam Theatre.

"Over the past 6 - 12 months we've been very quiet on the touring front," Tom said.

"Basically we had a break over Christmas and we've just been writing ever since, getting ready for the next album.

"It's been weird to be in the same place for so long - I've been annoying my wife quite a bit.

"We've certainly been kept busy, but I'm itching to play."

For fans who were fortunate enough to enjoy Busby Marou's early days, will be in for a real treat.

"It's pretty much a more polished version of the old days," Tom laughed.

"I can't promise we'll look any better.

"We're really making sure we don't forget who we are," Tom said.

"This tour will be something really special for us and Rockhampton."

"We had no plans to tour until after the album, but with the recording, mixing and other elements involved, we thought it could take up to another year before we see them again.
