Titans wait on Don ahead of big Penrith clash

GOLD Coast coach John Cartwright will decide today whether winger Anthony Don lines up against Penrith tonight, with Kalifa Faifai Loa travelling to Sydney as a standby 18th man.

Don (pictured), who had surgery last Saturday on a finger he dislocated in the win against Brisbane the previous night, trained yesterday but Cartwright said he wanted to make sure there were no issues or complications before declaring him a definite starter.

The table-topping Titans will again be without William Zillman (hamstring) who is still another week or two away from returning.

With inspirational forward Luke Bailey (ankle) sidelined through injury for another 2-3 weeks, powerful young forward Ryan James will make a timely return from a disrupted start to 2014 following off-season shoulder surgery.

James, who has been mentioned in despatches as an Origin bolter for the Blues, has played just one NRL game this season. The highlight of the clash will be how the Gold Coast handle former Titan Jamal Idris. The 195cm, 120kg giant is averaging 100m in five games, and has had 17 tackle breaks.
