Times Gone By: Beautiful wedding at Methodist Church
1954: A pretty wedding was solemnised at the Methodist Church today when Eileen Phyllis, only daughter of Mr and Mrs JJ Draper, Toolooa Street, was married to Colin, son of Mr and Mrs V Maluga, Wowan.
The bride, who was escorted by her father, Mr Jack Draper, wore a gorgeous gown of Chinese silk lace over satin, styled with sweetheart neckline and short puff sleeves.
She wore a pendant 100 years old, lent by Mrs Merson, of Gladstone.
The bride was attended by Miss Elizabeth (Betty) Ware, while Mr John David, brother of the bride, was best man.
The reception was held at the Niagara Café. The handsomely iced cake was made by Irwin's Bakery.
