Time to ‘chill out' and unwind for schoolies at Agnes
SCHOOL seemed like an eternity ago as former Year 12s from all over Queensland avoided the crush on the Gold and Sunshine coasts to have fun on The Discovery Coast.
Including past students from Brisbane, Yeppoon, Murgon and Gladstone, the schoolies hit the beach during the day and the Agnes Water Community Centre at night for their own celebrations.
The Rynne twins Casey and Jessica, and friends Chloe Scott and Sarah Jensen drove in from Murgon State High to join the fun.
"It's great here, it's not too busy and there's not the trouble that can happen on the Gold Coast," Chloe said.
"And we know the place; we've been coming here since we were kids (with our parents)," Casey said.
Acting Gladstone PCYC branch manager Snr Cnst Peter Dixon said there had been no troubles with schoolies at Agnes Water, with most of them just wanting to "chill out" after a big year.
"They're having a lot of fun. We couldn't get them out of the foam the other night," he said.
