Ticket holders look forward to great day at garden party

FASCINATORS and heels are emerging from wardrobes all over town, ready for Saturday's Colours of Spring Garden Party fundraiser hosted by Tannum Sands Kindergarten.

The 160 tickets to the popular event sold in out in less 30 minutes.

Fundraising co-ordinator Denyse Barnsdall and a team of volunteers have been working for over the past four months to organise the event.

"It's just amazing how the kindergarten community pull together," Ms Barnsdall said.

"We have had incredible amounts volunteer support and the day is shaping up to be fun, relaxing, entertaining and a great girls day out."

Committee vice president, Lisa Frost said the kindergarten relied heavily on the fundraising event to improve the kindy's infrastructure and resources.

High on the list of priorities is replacing the soft fall in both playground areas and replacing the cubby house.

The kindergarten team also is celebrating the results of its recent national accreditation assessment, rating an overall 'exceeding national quality standard'.

Co-director Melissa de Koning said the kindy's 2016 waitlist was still open.

"Tannum kindy is keen to change the community perception that our waitlist is closed and it's not worth registering," she said.

"We still have room available on the waitlist for next year."
