Thunder bowlers could prove the difference
Sydney Thunder quicks Rene Farrell and Lauren Cheatle could hold the key to tonight's Women's Big Bash League semi-final against the Perth Scorchers in Adelaide.
The pair played a major role in the team finishing on top of the ladder, Farrell taking 21 wickets to sit second on the bowling list, and 17-year-old Cheatle grabbing 18 to finish equal third.
The Scorchers have been well served by England captain Charlotte Edwards (pictured) who finished the regular season as the second-highest run scorer, her 444 at 44.4 putting her behind only Melbourne Stars and Australian skipper Meg Lanning (560 runs at 56).
The teams met in Perth on December 28, the Thunder winning that match by eight wickets despite the home side reaching 3-152, thanks largely to an unbeaten 88 from Edwards.
The Thunder scraped home in its final game against the Melbourne Stars on Sunday, Farrell taking 4-18 to restrict the Stars to 8-98 after setting a target of just 104.
