Throwdown music festival postponed until 2015
GLADSTONE'S first Harbourtown Throwdown heavy metal/punk festival has been postponed.
The show was meant to take place on Saturday, October 4 at the Grand Hotel, with doors opening at 3pm.
Now, fans will have to wait until 2015 to hear acts such as Wish For Wings, Darkc3ll and Satellites, which were expected to rock it out.
Some acoustic bands were also on the list.
Event organiser Tim Price said the news was not something the team wanted to deliver to Gladstone's hardcore heavy music fans.
"We are basically some key staff members down and logistics and transporting equipment will not be possible," he said.
"We simply do not feel that we could provide the level of show that people would expect for their money and we don't want to put on a 50% show."
Mr Price said it was not a case of the bands pulling out, and the interest was there from the acts to play in Gladstone.
"No matter which way Nathan and I divided up the work and thought about other people who could help us, it was asking a hell of a lot and we simply can't make it happen at this time," Mr Price said.
"What we do promise to do is bring this exact same show to Gladstone in the first half of 2015."
