Three men charged after shooting puts man in hospital

THREE men have been charged following a shooting in Chermside on December 23.

Police were called to a unit block on Eastleigh Street around 11pm, and on arrival found a 41-year-old man in a carpark with a gunshot wound to his lower torso.

He was taken to hospital with non-life threating injuries.

Detectives yesterday charged a 45-year-old Beachmere man with acts intended to maim, dangerous conduct with weapon, discharge weapon public place, unlawful possession of weapon, extortion, burglary and commit indictable offence and wilful damage. He is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on December 29.

Two other men were charged on December 24 and 25 and appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on December 26.

A 26-year old Aspley man was charged with one count each of acts intended to maim, extortion and burglary.

A 37-year-old Morayfield man was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon and one count each of acts intended to maim, extortion and burglary.
