YOUR GUIDE: Ten things to do in Gladstone this weekend

1 Miriam Vale Rodeo

The Miriam Vale Rodeo kicks off today at the showgrounds on the Bruce Hwy.

Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for school aged students and primary school students are free. There will be a woodchopping competition, motorshow, DJ entertainment, comedy shows, rides, a bar and canteen and more.

2 Rocky Rocks 2016

Daryl Braithwaite, Mental as Anything, Russell Morris and more will perform at the Rockhampton Music Bowl tomorrow from noon till 9pm. There will be an international food village, bus transport, beer garden and more. Tickets are $99 and are available from

3 Horse sports

4 Library Square

Pick up some fresh produce today at the Library Square Markets. Held in Goondoon St

5. Watch the local footy

The Gladstone Mudcrabs will take on the Rockhampton Panthers today at the Clinton Oval. The A-grade game starts at 5.40pm.

6 Floor walk

A free artist floor walk will be held today at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum from 11am. Join local artist Lidia Godijn to walk through her industrial-inspired exhibition.

7 Markets

The Discovery Coast Markets will be held tomorrow at the Seventeen Seventy SES Grounds. Pick up some fresh produce, arts and crafts, jewellery or something a little different from 7am - noon.

8 Pet adoption

The Friends of RSPCA will hold a cat and dog adoption day tomorrow.

The dog adoptions are done at Albert Rd, opposite the NRG Power Station from 9am - noon.

Cat adoptions can be made at 17 Pams Crt, Beecher from 10am - 1pm.

9 Film time

This is the last week residents can see Gladstone on the big screen at the cinemas. Feature film, Broke, which was shot in Gladstone is screening until Thursday. For times visit the Gladstone Cinemas website.

10 Live music

Catch live music at Tapas de Vino on Sunday from 2.30pm. Treat yourself to some roast pork while listening to Chris Schofield play some tunes.
