Carnage in Gladstone with monster trucks, demolition derby

ULTIMATE carnage is how Monster Trucks promoter Clive Featherby describes the show he and his crew will be putting on for the crowds on Saturday night at Gladstone Showgrounds.

As well as three monster trucks, all powered by 1500 horsepower supercharged V8 engines, spectators can expect to see four wheel drive action, loads and loads of cars being demolished, a motorbike show, and the trucks competing against a bulldozer, excavator and front end loader.

Sound like your sort of fun?

"Outback Thunda" promoter Clive Featherby.

Mr Featherby said the three-hour show will feature some of the top monster truck drivers in Australia and New Zealand, including New Zealand champion Danny Pattard, who will drive the Tassie Devil truck, and top Aussie driver Troy Garcia.

A demolition derby will also feature during the night, with 22 derby cars vying to be the last one standing.

"The demolition derby is always popular with the crowds and I'm sure it's not going to be any different in Gladstone," he said.

The show starts at 5pm and will finish around 8.30pm with one of the biggest fireworks displays seen in Gladstone, he said.

"I have been doing the fireworks here for years and I can assure you the show on Saturday will be the best yet."

Heading toward the grand finale spectators will see all of the cars, caravans, boats smashed to smithereens. "It will be ultimate carnage - something like you've never seen before," said Mr Featherby.

This will be one of his last shows in Australia as he plans to ship his three trucks over to China and put on shows there.
