Meet the locals: Jamie is voice of Marley Brown Oval

JAMIE Tattersall is the voice you'll hear when you are watching a game at Marley Brown Oval.

He's been volunteering his services for five years.

His job as ground manager includes keeping the games running on time, setting up the fields and making sure the scoring is under control.

Due to a heart condition, cardiomyopathy, Jamie can't play rugby but he still enjoys getting out there and being a part of the sport.

"Rugby brings people together and helps build teamwork skills," he said.

The highlights of his work are hosting Capras games and watching women's rugby league grow.

"Although this has been a tough year for rugby, Gladstone still has a strong competition," Jamie said.

He is excited for the finals, which will be played over the next three weekends.
