The champion of champions clay shooter
CLAY SHOOTING: Andrew Olive only dropped four targets as he shot his way to the top to claim the Champion of Champions Shooter Open category.
Using his 12-gauge Barretta DT10 under over shotgun, he out gunned his opponents at the weekend.
With a keen eye and accurate shot, Olive was able to set himself up to become the overall winner for his category.
Olive scored 146 out of 150 and set himself up to take home the winners sash.
"It's a good win to be part of an elite group and get the score I did," Olive said.
"The weather was good for shooting but the wind sometimes made it a bit hard with the targets."
Cam Spence won the Champion of Champions Intermediate Winner by shooting 131 out of 150.
"A good win to score in this category and I enjoyed the weekend shoot," Spence said.
Gladstone Clay Target Club president Mike Simmons said the weekend shoot went well despite the windy conditions.
"On Saturday we had 12 shooters and on Sunday 25 and they came from Theodore, Biloela and the rest of the district," Simmons said.
"The wind blew the targets a bit sometimes but it also challenged the shooters to see how good they were."
December 9 is the final shoot for the year for the Gladstone club and is a Christmas Novelty shoot starting at 9am.
