OUR SAY: Thanks Warren, but why didn’t you do it years ago?
AT LAST Warren Truss has stood up and showed he cares about his electorate and is as shocked and offended by the disparity between city and country as we are.
"It is simply not reasonable for people to accept a situation where the life expectancy of a child born in my electorate is five years lower than someone born two hours down the road in Brisbane," Mr Truss told his colleagues in Parliament yesterday.
Hear hear, Mr Truss. Thank you. Good on you.
But why didn't you do this years ago?
You have been our voice at the national level for almost two decades during which time you have ascended to the highest echelons, yet here we languish (in the best part of the world, mind you) with our appallingly high youth unemployment rate, our lower life expectancy and more challenging life path to the heights of success.
Is party politics working, one has to wonder?
If politicians are unable to speak out and do what we all thought they had been elected to do then what is the point of voting for any of them?
A little less towing the party line and a little more strong representation for regional Australia please LNP.
