Residents grateful unruly party was shut down by police

ANOTHER weekend, and more of the same for Gladstone police, who dealt with another series of alcohol-fuelled offences.

Between issues at licensed premises and a private party, officers were kept busy.

Officer in charge of communications Jim Vogler said officers had been praised by Benaraby residents after having to disperse a crowd of unruly young partygoers on Saturday night.

"It was mainly a lot of drunken idiots in town," he said.

"There was one big party in Benaraby that had to be shut down.

"We've had a few residents ring up and thank us for our efforts in looking after the party; we don't get that often so it's nice to hear."
