Ten things to do in Gladstone this weekend
IF you're looking for something to do in the Gladstone region this weekend, here are 10 suggestions to get you started.
1. Gladstone Multicultural Festival
THERE'S a whole day of fun to be had at this year's Gladstone Multicultural Festival at the marina parklands on Sunday.
The festival will run from 9am-4pm featuring live entertainment, international foods, and arts and craft stalls.
The Parade of Nations and official speeches will be held between 11.30am and 12.30pm.

2. Dads' Morning Out
KIDS Outside the Box, an autism spectrum disorder family support group, will host a Dads' Morning Out at Spinnaker Park on Saturday.
The breakfast event will start at 7.30am at the picnic area on the right, with food provided.
Dads will be able to learn ways to keep the fun and laughter within their families.

3. Neon Roller Rave
A DARE to be Different underage neon roller rave will be held at the Gladstone PCYC on Saturday night.
The event for teens aged 12-17 will be a drug and alcohol free event.
There will be free neon face paint and hairspray available, and drinks and snacks to purchase.
Entry is $5. The event will run from 6.30-8.30pm.
4. Beach Arts Music
BEACH Arts Music is a free community on Saturday from 2-7 at Millennium Esplanade, Tannum Sands.
It features more than 90 stalls with food, arts, craft and clothing.
This month's entertainment will include Innocent Eve from 2-5pm, Aussielords jammin reggae from 5-5.30pm and Feijoa Funk from 5.30-7pm.
5. Smiles and laughs
PACT House Productions will present the play Lovers and Other Strangers at The Live Room, behind Anthony Breed Music at 117 Toolooa St, Gladstone, on Saturday night.
Written by Renee Taylor and Joseph Bologna, Lovers and Other Strangers was a hit on Broadway and was later made into a film.
Pact House is a local youth theatre group. Doors open at 7.30pm for the 8pm show.

6. Gladstone Eisteddfod
PERFORMANCES at the 45th Gladstone Eisteddfod continue on Saturday and Sunday with instrumental performances.
The eisteddfod will run from 8.30am to 5pm at the Gladstone Entertainment Centre.
Entry is $8 a session, $5 concession and $20 family.
7. Charity dance at Calliope
A CHARITY dance will be held on Saturday at the Calliope RSL Memorial Hall from 6.30pm-11.30pm.
There will be music by the Moorhead Dance Band.

8. Quilt and craft expo
A QUILT and craft expo will be held at St Mark's Anglican Church, Sayre St, Boyne Island, on Saturday from 9.30am-4pm.
On offer will be Devonshire tea, display of quilts and craft, and a trading table with crafts, homemade baked goods and produce for sale.
There will also be a raffle and door prize, as well as a sausage sizzle.

9. Plant display
GLADSTONE Orchid and Foliage Society is hosting a Father's Day plant display and sales day in front of Kmart on Saturday from 8am-2.30pm.
There will be a wide range of plants on display as well as for sale.
There will also be orchid potting mix for sale as well as people to help advise you on repotting plants.

10. Father's Day fun run
GLADSTONE Road Runners will host a Father's Day fun run from Bray Park, Boyne Island on Sunday.
Registration is at 7am for an 8am start.
People don't have to be a dad to participate - it's simply a way to honour dads on their special day.
There will be a 4km and an 8km course utilising the Turtle Way Pathway that borders the Boyne River.
A special Father's Day breakfast will be provided afterwards.
