IF you're looking for something to do in the Gladstone region this weekend, here are 10 suggestions to get you started.
1. Race day in Gladstone
HEAD to the Cox Plate Races on Saturday for a great day out at the track.
Gates open at 11am at Gladstone Turf Club. There will be fashions on the field with Best Dressed Female, Best Dressed Male and Best Millinery.
There will be plenty of champagne, food and racing to keep you occupied.
Get there early to secure a table as space is limited.
2. Dads' Day Out
DADS can enjoy a great time out with the kids from 10am-2pm on Sunday, as GAPDL hosts the free community event Dads' Day Out.
Held as part of Children's Week, the event is on at the Gladstone PCYC.
The aim of the day is to provide dads and their children with a wide variety of interactive games, activities and ride.
There will be visits from children's characters, and the PCYC canteen will be open, with a sausage sizzle also running.

3. Garage Sale Trail
AUSTRALIA'S biggest garage sale will be held on Saturday, with a number of registered sites in Gladstone joining in the fun.
Garage Sale Trail is for households, community groups, schools, charities, makers and creators.
People who want to be involved have registered their garage sale to be part of the trail.
Bargain hunters can go online and create their own treasure trail.
Garage sales will be held in Gladstone, Calliope and Tannum Sands.

4. Crossfit Gladstone raises funds to fight depression
CROSSFIT Gladstone will host an event on Saturday to raise money and awareness for beyondblue.
The charity day will have a partnered workout starting at 7am, open to everyone regardless of fitness levels.
Event organiser Jardan Craigie said the event aimed to raise awareness about depression.
"We will be having a sausage sizzle, prizes, fancy dress in blue and just a good social event," she said.
5. CQ Starlight Cinema hosts drive-in movie night
CQ Starlight Cinema will again attempt to host a drive-in movie night at the Gladstone Showgrounds on Saturday, after last weekend's event was cancelled because of high winds.
Labyrinth will screen at 6.30pm, with White House Down at 8.30pm.
Gates will open 30 minutes before the first movie and 15 minutes before the second movie.
A snack bar will be open on site. Cost is $20 per vehicle per movie.
6. Friends of Bindaree garage sale
THE Friends of Bindaree Garage Sale is a popular market event at Boyne Island, run monthly by Bindaree Lodge Aged Care Facility.
There will be lots of bargains on second hand clothing, manchester, books, footwear, toys, furniture and much more.
The organisers take donations of all items from clothing to furniture, electrical items, tools and push bikes.
They sort, recycle and repair what they can and offer these items at great prices. They are also open every Wednesday from 7.30-11.30am.
7. Calliope River Historical Markets
THE Calliope Historical Village Markets are one of the largest in Queensland and are run on a monthly basis along the banks for the Calliope River.
Take the kids along on Sunday for a trip on their famous miniature train ride, or just check out the abundance of homewares, fresh produce, plants and bric-a-brac for sale.
The markets run from 8am to 1pm at Calliope River Historical Village, Carrara Rd, River Ranch.

8. Discovery Coast Markets
THE Discovery Coast Markets are held on the second and fourth Sunday of each month at the SES Grounds, Captain Cook Drive, between Agnes Water and Seventeen Seventy.
Come and browse the arts and crafts, bric-a-brac and fresh produce available to purchase between 8am and noon.
9. Time to clean up the coastline
CLEANING up our coastlines is no small feat, and Gladstone residents are being asked to pitch in this weekend.
A marine debris clean-up will occur on Sunday from 2pm at Bray Park in Boyne Island, in an effort to reduce litter and improve waterway health.
At the last clean up, 13.6kg of debris amounting to 242 items were removed from our local coastlines.
Participants are asked to wear sun safe clothing and closed in shoes, with afternoon tea provided on the day.

10. Library Square Markets
HELD at Library Square in the heart of Gladstone's CBD, residents and visitors can purchase fresh produce, handmade arts and crafts and much more.
When you're done at the markets, there are a number of restaurants and cafes in the CBD that will tempt your tastebuds.
