1. CQ Starlight Cinema drive-in movie night

CQ Starlight Cinema will host another drive-in movie night at Gladstone Showgrounds on Saturday.

The children's movie Frozen (PG) will screen from 7pm, followed by Iron Man 3 (M) at 8.45pm.

Cost is $20 per vehicle per movie.

Entry is off Tank St. Gates open 30 minutes before the first movie and 15 minutes before the second.

A snack bar will be open on-site.

2. Get your skates on

AN ice skating rink will be operating at Kirkwood Road Shopping Centre, Gladstone over the school holidays.

The rink opened on Friday and will remain in place until January 18.

Season passes are available for $100 per person, and six-session passes cost $65.

Single sessions cost $15. Each session goes for one hour.

The rink is open from 9am to 9pm Friday, 9am to 7.30pm Monday to Thursday and Saturday, and at 10.30am and 3pm on Sunday.

3. Sam West plays at Agnes Water

HERVEY Bay musician Sam West will return to the Agnes Water Tavern from 6pm on Saturday to celebrate the release of his second studio album, Circles.

He says fans can expect something a little more mature and a little more dark on the record.

"Production-wise, it has a much more stripped-back feel," he said.

He last performed at the tavern in October when he played 60 gigs in 60 days.

4. Gladstone PCYC markets

The Gladstone PCYC Markets are on Sunday at the Gladstone PCYC  from 8am to noon.

There will be variety of stalls including fruit and vegetables, furniture, food including gluten free and herbal teas, clothing, soy candles and more.

5. Acclaimed glass artists hosts workshop

STUDIO 8 Glass Gallery's internationally acclaimed glass artist Judith Bohm-Parr will run a workshop at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery Museum exploring the art of glass fusion.

The workshop will be held on Saturday from 10.30am to 4.30pm on Saturday.

6. Pistol shooting morning for SUNfest

GLADSTONE Pistol Club will host a pistol shooting session as part of SUNfest activities on Saturday from 8.30am to 1pm..

There will be tutors on hand to give everyone a chance to shoot a pistol, have a match or try rifle shooting.

Cost is $25,which includes lunch and a cold drink.

The club is on Brendonna Rd, Calliope. 

SUNfest activities are for youth aged from 12-17 years. Bookings can be made online at www.gladecc.com.au, by phoning 4972 2822 or by visiting the Gladstone Entertainment Centre box office.

7. Discovery Coast Markets

THE Discovery Coast Markets are running every Sunday during the school holidays, at the SES Grounds on Captain Cook Drive between Agnes Water and Seventeen Seventy.

Browse the arts and crafts, bric-a-brac and fresh produce available to purchase between 8am and noon.

8. Library Square Markets

HELD at Library Square in the heart of Gladstone's CBD on Saturday, residents and visitors can purchase fresh produce, handmade arts and crafts and much more.

When you're done at the markets, there are a number of restaurants and cafes in the CBD that will tempt your tastebuds.

9. Blue Care garage sale

BLUE Care Auxiliary will hold its next Garage Sale at 2 Margaret St on Saturday from 7am to noon.

Donations of good saleable items can be left at the centre at any time, while arrangements can be made for the pick up of larger items by phoning the centre on 4979 4499 and leaving a message or by phoning Ted on 4972 4757.

10. Chill out at Sunday session

LIGHTBOX Espresso and Wine Bar is the hottest place to be in Gladstone and Sunday is where you can try it out.

Take your friends along to the bar in Goondoon St, next to the Gladstone Entertainment and Convention Centre, for a cocktail.

The Sunday sessions are a chilled way of wrapping up a weekend while listening to some live acoustic music.

You can order tapas and sit at one of the booths from 2pm onwards.
