Teenage skater hospitalised in Brisbane after accident

A GLADSTONE teenager is in the high dependency unit of the Royal Children's Hospital in Brisbane after a skateboarding incident on Glenlyon Rd on Sunday.

Matt Bonney was transferred from Gladstone Base Hospital on Sunday after he skated down a steep hill adjacent to Tondoon Botanic Gardens.

It's believed he suffered several fractures to his skull and has a brain bleed.

A Facebook page titled No Helmet No Wheels! Support for Matt Bonney was established at 8pm on Sunday, with 547 members joining in less than 24 hours.
