Teen girls charged after pack-robbery of woman's bag

TWO girls have been charged after a woman was assaulted and robbed at Hyde Park yesterday afternoon.

Around 4.45pm the woman was walking along Bayswater Road when an attempt was made to pull her handbag from her shoulder. The woman resisted and was assaulted by five teenage girls.

After releasing the handbag the woman was again punched and assaulted before the girls ran off with her bag. They were last seen running along Bayswater Road.

The 43-year-old woman received treatment for facial injuries including a cut on her nose and bruising.

The girls aged 14 and 16 have been charged with robbery in company and will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

Police investigations are continuing.
