Teen caught after driving by himself and evading police

A 16-YEAR-OLD boy will face court on multiple charges are being caught driving by himself and trying to evade police early Thursday morning.

Police intercepted the learner driver at Koowin Dr and Skyline Dr, Kirkwood just after midnight. The teenager continued to drive erratically, but was stopped a short way down the road.

He is facing two charges of driving without due care and attention, two charges of failing to stop and one charge relating to driving without supervision.

He will face court on March 26.

In other police news, a motorcycle rider, 21, and a cyclist have collided at the roundabout on Gladstone Port Access Rd and Hopper Rd, Gladstone.

The 53-year-old male cyclist was taken to Gladstone Base Hospital.

The accident occurred at 5.30am on Thursday.
