What I'm reading: Teacher loves thrillers

Name: Allison Cukovski

Occupation: I'm a teacher. I was based in Brisbane but recently we relocated to Gladstone.

What are you reading at the moment? Gone Girl, it's amazing. I haven't seen the movie yet.

It's a great book to read if you're tired or stressed because it's really engaging and fast paced. There's very vivid imagery.

I'm pregnant and I was already having crazy dreams, but now they're just getting stranger!

Where do you get your books from? I just got my library card today. I usually get books from the library.

I like it because you get three weeks to read it. Sometimes I'll buy a book from a book shop.

What's your favourite genre? Thriller and crime, which is why I like the idea of Gone Girl.

I like auto biographies too, there's an amazing one about a mountain climber that I've read.

Hard copy or kindle? I've got a kindle and I've used it twice. I'd rather a hard copy book.

I've got boxes of books in storage. I think you can get more engaged with a hard copy book.

Who was it that got you interested in reading? My mother, she was an English teacher so it was inevitable.

My daughter already loves stories too.

What's your favourite book? The Red Tent by Anita Diamant. It's based on the Old Testament but from a female's perspective.

It was a really different look at the topic and I felt it was really engaging and empowering.
