Taylor Swift gives fan $1989 to pay off her student loans

TAYLOR Swift has surprised one fan by sending her package full of personalised gifts and $1989.

Rebekah Bortniker posted photos of the gifts on Twitter:

The package included a hand written card and watercolour painting both written and painted by Swift, a Polaroid photo, a necklace and a "New York Is My Boyfriend" pouch with $1989.

With the money was a note that read: "Rebekah, now you're $1989 closer to paying off those student loans."

The figure $1989 is a reference to Swift's latest album 1989.

The Huffington Post reports Bortniker got Swift's attention with a video mashup she made of Swift having fun with her friends to the theme song from Friends, I'll Be There For You.

"I love the video you made of me and my friends," Swift wrote in her card to Bortniker.

"I got our my paints for the first time in a while today and made you something.

"I really really really really hope you like it.

"I'm not a good painter but I think you're so beautiful and positive, even though you're dealing with the stress life brings, so I wanted to make you something."

Swift reportedly had her bodyguard hand deliver the package to Bortniker's house. She had crossed out the word FED on the box so it read SWIFT EX.

Bortniker posted a video on YouTube and Tumblr of her opening Swift's package.

In her post on Tumblr, Bortniker wrote: "So, here's the video of me opening the gifts Taylor sent me.

"I was so nervous I couldn't even read the letter and totally butchered it. I was just in such shock that Taylor had taken her time to think about me and send me something. I still don't think I've really processed it all, I feel like I'm just in this crazy dream. I couldn't even form words when I opened everything, luckily my mom took a minute to thank Taylor for me.

"Taylor, thank you, thank you, thank you. I know I've said it and I'll probably say it a million more times because this means more to me than you could imagine, I love you!"
