'How I lost 16kg and halved my body fat to 12 per cent'

A MEETING with Gladstone personal trainer Win Marsh provided all the motivation Taylor Butcher needed to get fit and feel good about herself.

It was before a planned overseas holiday with her partner when Butcher looked at some photograghs of herself.

That was when the 21-year-old thought enough was enough.

"It wasn't until late 2014, early January 2015 that I realised my weight was starting to gain again," Butcher said.

"I was upset with the way I looked in photos and my clothes started to feel snug.

"At this same time my partner Matt, two friends and I were planning our trip to Europe and I knew I had to do something to get myself into shape before we left."

She hunted around for a personal trainer and got in touch with Marsh from WM Training. "Her and her partner were bodybuilders and thought it was interesting," Butcher said.

"I sent Win a message and instantly got a reply, organised a consultation and there I was standing in her fully-equipped garage gym the next week.

"I had told Win I wanted to lose weight and tone up for my big holiday in the next three months."

That was the turning point for her.

Butcher was a finalist in yesterday's Inspiring Women's Awards Breakfast at the Yaralla Sports Club.

She had lost 16kg and had halved her body fat to 12 per cent.

"At the moment I am focussing on maintaining my weight and definitely going on a holiday to America with my partner," Toyota service advisor Butcher said.

She added that she now trains everyday except on weekends where she allows 'bad' food.

"Training is weights and cardio," Butcher said.

"I could not have done it without the help of my partner Matt, family, friends and especially Win, Brett and the team at WMTraining."
