HookUp a tasty treat as celebrity chef returns for 2014

CELEBRITY chef Andy Phipps once again will be cooking up a tasty treat at the Boyne Tannum HookUp.

One of the greatest appeals of fishing is eating the freshest possible seafood.

It is a passion of Mr Phipps, who has 38 years of professional cooking under his belt.

He said he loved the HookUp.

"You cannot get a better family fishing event in Australia," he said.

"I've knocked back $3000 of work to attend for my seventh year.

"I wouldn't be anywhere else on HookUp weekend."

Mr Phipps will be bringing his expertise as a fishing journalist and author of numerous cookbooks to the HookUp.

As competitors reel in their catch, Mr Phipps will heat up the barbie to showcase preparation methods.

"I'm hoping we will get some beautiful coral trout and red emperor brought in," he said.

"I'm going to show everyone the world's best beer batter recipe this year, which is just brilliant."

Mr Phipps will be hosting at least five cooking demonstrations over the weekend.

The country's biggest and best family fishing event will kick off on Friday, and entries are still open.

Registrations can be processed on the website or through sponsors Pat's Tackle World or Boyne Bait and Tackle.
