Taste of life as a lawyer inspires
Gemma Leiper reports on her work experience at V.A.J Byrne & Co. Lawyers.
PREPARING for work experience week was one of the most daunting situations of my life.
I had no idea what to expect.
I am Gemma Leiper, a Year 10 student from Miriam Vale State School and my peers and I recently completed our work experience week.
Law was an interest of mine and I was keen to follow it.
With that said, that's why I spent my week with amazing staff of V.A.J Byrne & Co. Lawyers.
After talking with many of the lawyers and solicitors I encountered many inspirational stories of how they came to this field and why they stayed.
I was astounded about the passion every one of the lawyers and solicitors had for their work.
Although due to confidentiality reasons I was mainly doing reception work, they gave me every opportunity they could when it came to law.
Now, after having a taste of the law field I can definitely see myself there in the future.
Thank you is not enough words to describe how grateful I am to V.A.J Byrne & Co. Lawyers, to family and friends that helped out with travel and accommodation and to my careers teacher Mr Andersen for making this all happen.
