Tannum teacher shares secret to writing perfect paragraph

A TANNUM Sands teacher may have found the secret to the perfect paragraph.

Next month master literacy teacher Brian Rowe will speak at a national conference about his method, called IBETS.

For six months students who struggled with the traditional paragraph writing model have learned this new approach, achieving great results.

"I found what they struggled with was we don't write in first person, yet they were told to explain their argument," Mr Rowe said.

"With my method, they write it in first person first, and then remove the 'I' and it works every time."

Once the students are comfortable with IBETS they're able to move on to the traditional TEEL method.

Mr Rowe will make a 30 minute presentation at the Australian Teacher Education Association about his new paragraph method to academics and principals around Australia.
