Port Curtis Sailing Club takes home Federation Cup

THE Port Curtis Sailing Club enjoyed continued success at the final presentation for the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race on Monday, taking home the Federation Cup for the combined performance of three nominated vessels.

Gladstone yacht Wistari was one of the three vessels to be awarded, along with Immigrant and Piranha.

Wistari was the last boat to finish the race, crossing the line shortly after midnight on Sunday.

Crew member Saskia Groen-In'T-Woud flew from the Philippines to take part in the race.

"It was a reunion of old friends," she said.

Dead winds provided challenges for competitors, but for the Wistari crew it allowed a quick dip near Bustard Heads.
