Swimmers spring to Rocky action this weekend in Rockhampton

SWIMMING: A squad of 15 swimmers from the Gladstone Gladiators Swimming Club will compete at the Annual Rocky City Spring Sprint Meet on Saturday.

This meet is the long-course qualifier for the 2018 McDonalds Queensland Championships Event in December.

Head coach Tom Fronek said he was happy for his squad to have fun at the meet.

"Whether they are five-year-olds or 16-year-olds, it is good to see them wanting to race and enjoying racing," he said. "I want them to have fun.

"With summer approaching this is a great time of year to take up swimming regardless of your age or ability."

Racing will start at 8am at the World War II Memorial Pool in Rockhampton.
