RSPCA volunteers call for help baking cupcakes
THE launch of RSPCA Queensland's sweetest fundraising event of the year will see animal lovers fighting cruelty with cupcakes as they bake, ice, sell and share dozens of cakes to raise funds for the thousands of animals the organisation helps annually.
Cupcake Day for the RSPCA will officially take place on Monday, August 17.
The animal welfare organisation is calling on all Queensland animal lovers to shake out their aprons and grease their cupcake trays to help provide vital welfare services for animals across the state.
The concept is simple: participants can host a cupcake day event at their workplace, at home or with friends - with every dollar going to help animals in need.
Friends of RSPCA Gladstone president Judy Whicker said the organisation would be holding a cupcake stall from 9am to 3pm on Sunday, August 16 outside Kmart at Stockland Kin Kora.
"We are looking for more people to bake for us," she said.
"If anyone wants to make some cakes we would be grateful - we can pick them up and deliver them."
Anyone able to help bake cupcakes for sale is asked to contact the president on 0417 065 394.
