Swan's 11th hour call to Abbott

Deputy Prime Minister Wayne Swan has made an 11th hour call to Opposition Leader Tony Abbott to commit the full $150 million needed for the Calliope Crossroads.

Mr Swan has made the call through The Observer while in Gladstone this afternoon.

Member for Flynn Chris Trevor also called on the Liberal National Party to fully fund the Calliope Crossroads Project with the project costing well in excess of the LNP’s $55 million commitment.

“This is one of the most dangerous intersections in Central Queensland and the number one infrastructure project for the Gladstone Region.

“Our local community deserves a Government that will complete the project and Federal Labor will do just that by committing $150 million to fully upgrade the intersection to a standard that local residents deserve,” Mr Trevor said.
