Swan says region has bright future
THE Deputy Prime Minister and Federal Treasurer Wayne Swan was in Gladstone yesterday providing his own insights into the future prospects and developments in the region.
Speaking at the “Financial State of the Nation; Future of our Region” business luncheon hosted by the GAPDL, Mr Swan addressed a full house of people involved in Gladstone business and industry.
Mr Swan said he understands the change of pace within Gladstone and the challenges that the community faces.
“This local community has a very bright future if we get the planning and the policies of the future right and if we can work with the pace of change,” he said.
GAPDL chairman Peter Corones said today’s message was all about a community that has come a long way.
“It was about what we have done what we now deliver and how proud we are about those achievements,” Mr Corones said.
“Going forward is about getting the balance right.””
