'Big name' pollie coming to ‘Beers with Beers’ in Gladstone

THE procession of politicians visiting Gladstone will continue today as both major parties fight for the marginal seat of Flynn.

Yesterday we had the minister for infrastructure and transport Darren Chester throw his support behind current LNP MP Ken O'Dowd.

The day before the shadow treasurer Chris Bowen came to Gladstone to announce a $5 million commitment to the Philip St precinct to help Labor candidate Zac Beers in his bid to win the seat in the July 2 election.

And again today we have another Labor politician, Wayne Swan, coming to Gladstone to offer his support.

Much in the same vein as Mr O'Dowd's politics in the pub more than two weeks ago and senator Glen Lazarus' lunch shout at the Grand Hotel yesterday, Mr Beers is taking his campaign to the pub.

Tonight at the Queens Hotel on Goondoon St Mr Beers and Mr Swan have invited members of the public to have "Beers with Beers".

The low key session will start at 6pm but we're unsure if the beers will be on the Labor Party or the punters at the moment.
