Suspicious house fire in South Mackay

POLICE are investigating what they believe could be a suspicious house fire in South Mackay on Sunday morning.

There are burn marks on the front door of the Juliet St home and police forensic investigators have been taking photos of it and speaking to the residents this morning.

Police were notified of the fire at 5.10am and told The Daily Mercury it appears to have been deliberately lit.

Officers were also looking through the resident's bin.

There has been no major damage done to the house.
