Woman starts 12-wk program, gets suspended prison sentence

SASHA Lee Barnes faced Rockhampton Magistrates Court yesterday after police found 2.5g of cannabis on her.

She was walking along Phillip St on December 15 when she spoke with police and a search was conducted.

The court heard she had a significant debt with State Penalties Enforcement Registry (SPER).

The court also heard she was going through a 12-week program to address her addiction to alcohol and was sentenced to a one-month suspended prison sentence.
