Surf club beach bar opens doors
A BEER with a view is now on the agenda as the Agnes Water Surf Club (Town of 1770) finally opened its doors this week.
The upper deck at the spanking new club has views over the trees to the sea with The Beach Break Bar open seven days and the restaurant open for lunch and dinner.
And locals are already loving it, with a few visitors also starting to discover the latest watering hole and eatery on The Discovery Coast.
Club committee member and administrator Kim McArley said the club had received a good response in the first week with membership numbers rising fast.
“Membership – foundation members – is filling up quickly and the response has been good,” she said.
“People are coming for a bit of a look and discovering it is a nice place to relax have a drink and a meal.”
Ms McArley said staff was settling the place in.
The restaurant will be open every day during the school holidays; 11.30am to 2.30pm for lunch and from 5.30-6pm for dinner.
The Agnes Water Surf Club has reciprocal rights for members with other clubs in Queensland and interstate with plans to offer introductory memberships.
“While we are getting plenty of interest in the foundation memberships, we are going to offer a one-off free promotional membership to all community members up to October 15,” Ms McArley said.
