Supporters keep watch on cyclist death accused’s case

AT LEAST 10 people showed their support for late Noosaville cyclist Stephen Small by attending a court mention for the man accused of killing him.

Nathan Craig MacDonald, 35, was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death whilst adversely affected by an intoxicating substance after allegedly being involved in a collision with a cycle being ridden by Mr Small on Eumundi-Noosa Rd on March 14.

He has remained in custody since being arrested after the crash and was not required to appear for Thursday's mention.

His matters were adjourned until June 23 so a brief of evidence could be considered by his lawyers.

The people who waited in court for the mention declined to comment outside, however one man confirmed they were there to show support for Mr Small.
