Boyne Smelters staff mourn loss of workmate

WORKERS from Boyne Smelters Limited have expressed their sorrow after the death of process technician Jordon Hahn on Thursday night.

Mr Hahn died when the car he was driving crashed into a tree on Turkey Beach Rd, 14km from the Bruce Hwy.

The 25-year old was the only person in the car when it lost control.

Miriam Vale police constable Jason Pepperdene said his team got the call from first responders from Turkey Beach.

"The one male driver was deceased when we got there," he said.

Mr Hahn had worked at BSL for more than two years.

BSL general manager Joe Rea said Mr Hahn had been an experienced, well known and highly valued team member.

"He is missed by his team mates, which include friends as well as the wider BSL site," he said.

"We offer our sincere condolences to Jordon's family, friends and colleagues in this time of grief."
