Supermodel’s shock baby news
Naomi Campbell has revealed she has become a mother at the age of 50.
The British supermodel took to Instagram to share a photo of her newborn daughter.
"A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother," she wrote.
"So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel. There is no greater love."
Campbell tagged her mum Valerie Morris-Campbell in the post but didn't reveal any other details about the baby's birth.
Campbell was last pictured on the runway for Michael Kors in April this year.
American designer Marc Jacobs was among the first big names to congratulate her.
"Oh my God!!!!! Today is the day?? How absolutely incredible. How lucky she is and how lucky you are! What a wonderful Mother you will be. Blessings all around," Jacobs wrote.
"No one deserves this more," added British pop star, Rita Ora, while actress Jamie Winstone wrote: "Wow congratulations Naomi. BIG, BIG LOVE, wow you're a Mama."
British Vogue editor Edward Enninful hinted he had already met the baby, writing, "Seeing the two of you together made my year. You will bring each other so much joy @naomi."
According to The Sun, Campbell had hinted that motherhood was on her mind back in 2017.
"I think about having children all the time," she told the UK's Evening Standard.
"Now with the way science is I think I can do it when I want.
"I'll see what the universe brings me. For now, what the universe has delivered is very much in the spirit of a 'chosen family'."
In a 2019 interview, she said she wasn't quite ready to become a mum.
"Not yet - I'll see what the universe brings me."
At that time Campbell had been secretly dating former One Direction pop star Liam Payne.
The couple enjoyed a romance for two months before ending their relationship in April.
She previously dated British rapper Skepta, who has more recently been linked to Adele.
The supermodel has also been engaged twice but never married.
In 1993, U2 bassist Adam Clayton popped the question - just months after he started dating the supermodel.
Their first date came after Clayton was asked if there was anything in the world he desired but did not have, in an interview, and responded: "A date with Naomi Campbell."
The couple reportedly had a volatile relationship split a year later. Campbell later got engaged to Formula One racing chief Flavio Briatore in 1998.
They had an on-off relationship until 2003.
Campbell - who says she eats just one meal a day - is one of the world's five original supermodels and has been in the industry for over 30 years.
During her career, she has graced the covers of more than 500 magazines.
She was the first black model to appear on the covers of Time magazine, French Vogue and Russian Vogue - as well as the first British black model on the cover of British Vogue.
More recently, she appeared as a judge alongside Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn on the fashion reality series, Making the Cut, where she was beloved by fans for her brutal honesty.
Her YouTube series No Filter with Naomi has also been wildly popular.
