SUNfest finishes with spectacular free showcase

SUNfest 2015 will draw to a spectacular close on Friday night when the QGC SUNfest Showcase live performance is held at the Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre from 6.30-8.30pm.

Gladstone residents are invited to attend the free event featuring the talents of SUNfest participants aged 12-17, showcasing the skills and creations stemming from the various dance, art and drama workshops they attended.

SUNfest is Gladstone Regional Council's youth school holiday program for youngsters aged 10-17, coordinated by Gladstone Festivals and Events.

Gladstone Mayor Gail Sellers said it provided a memorable finale to 12 days of fun activities.

"The SUNfest Showcase has proved to be a popular finale to program over the years and I look forward to that again being the case tonight," Cr Sellers said.

"It's always wonderful to see all the dance and drama workshop participants put their new skills to use on a stage decorated with the creations of their art workshop counterparts."

Hundreds of Gladstone Region youths attended SUNfest 2015, enjoying a wide range of activities from creative tasks and performing arts to sports and adventure.
