Just another Sunday at Coffee Club

IF YOU'VE ever driven past the NightOwl shopping centre on the Dawson Highway on a Sunday you'll know that it's a busy place.

Coffee Club manager Prudence Allen isn't expecting that to change with Sunday trading beginning in Gladstone tomorrow. Because Coffee Club opens on a Sunday already, from 7am to 9pm, they won't really affected by the beginning of Sunday trading tomorrow, Ms Allen said; they are ‘flat out' every weekend and she thinks this one won't be any different.

“We're expecting it to be busier with more people out and about, but we are quite full on Sundays.

“We think Sunday lunch will pick up a bit,” Ms Allen said.

The Coffee Club is fully staffed on weekends, so they haven't had to make any changes to staffing to accommodate for the extra day, unlike some other businesses that haven't previously opened on a Sunday.

“I think it will be good for shift workers,” Ms Allen said.
