Successful day for all at touch footy grand final
TOUCH FOOTBALL: The Gladstone Port Curtis Touch grand finals was a great success with both teams and spectators winning with the family fun day.
Vice-president Ben Bultreys said the whole day was a stand out for everyone who there.
"It was a really good day, very happy with it and overall 200 played on the day,” he said.
"The day was played in really good spirits and the kids who were there had a good day out and enjoyed it.”
Bultreys said the day would not have succeeded without the support it received from other organisations.
"Thankful for the Gladstone Touch Association for supplying referees and to hire the fields and facilities,” he said.
"The money raised from the day will go back into the touch football system.”
The day was an orientated family fun day, but five games were still played with a competitive spirit requiring drop offs to get a winner.
A grade Men's winner Sealink defeated Hori Club with Player of the final, Jack Madson.
The A grade Women's victor was Redbacks beating Paragon and India Poulton as Player of the Final.
In the mixed competition, A grade Family Feud out-scored Hori club and Player of the Final was Richie Walker.
The B grade Mixed winner was 2 Sharp getting up against Barflies with Jahkayla Docherty the Player of the Final.
