Tannum Sands students organise remembrance parade

REMEMBRANCE Day ceremonies were held in schools across the region last week as people paused to remember those who have died in past and present conflicts.

Tannum Sands State Primary School Year 5 students organised a special parade last Friday to educate the other students, and reflect on the meaning of the day.

Many children wore poppies and created wreaths.

Music teacher Nicole Bruce led choir members from 4C in a beautiful rendition of Skinny Love.

At the end of the parade the school captains took the school's official wreath, to lay at the memorial stone, and class captains placed their classes' individual offerings. "What a wonderful job our Year 5 has done," principal Leanne Ibell said.
