Student dressed as Hitler wins best dressed at book day

A STUDENT who came dressed as Adolf Hitler was named by teachers as one of the best dressed pupils at the school's Book Week dress-up day - as children from Bialik College, a Jewish school in Melbourne, watched on.

ABC reports a teacher at St Philip's College in Alice Springs told the boy he could come to the event dressed as Hitler, before the event.

"Now she is absolutely shattered that she said that, and I'm really concerned about her wellbeing," the school's principal Roger Herbert told 783 ABC Alice Springs.

"We also contacted the school to say look, this had happened, please understand."
