Gladstone woman sick of negativity surrounding hospital
A GLADSTONE woman says she's fed up with all the negativity she hears about the Gladstone hospital both on social media and in real life.
Debbie Colborne said all the negativity stems from when one person has a bad experience and posts it online.
"It makes me so angry, it really does," she said.
"You hear one person call them hopeless and other people start commenting and it just pulls the whole thing down."
So Ms Colborne was delighted see a post in the Facebook page Gladstone Open Discussion praising the Gladstone Hospital and staff.
"A father had posted a story about his son who needed to get to the hospital and upon arrival and the whole time they were there they just got the most amazing service and were looked after well," Ms Colborne said
"This mean gave them such good feedback and I'm so glad he posted it on the page for everyone to see, because once he did the post went off and lots of people commented their own positive experiences with the hospital.
"It just shows how quickly that sort of thing spreads, it's wonderful and we need more of that positivity in Gladstone."
Ms Colborne said she has never received better service than what she has at the Gladstone hospital.
"I couldn't fault them," she said.
"No matter what I'm there for even for something like a blood pressure test they are always so great, caring and they really look after you.
"Yes, you hear about people having to wait long hours and other things, but that happens everywhere and there's always someone worse off."
"I have been to other hospitals in CQ and let me tell you, I wouldn't take my dogs there, nowhere has been as good as our hospital here."
Ms Colborne has lived in Gladstone for 24 years, owns her own business House Cleaning Done by Debbie Colborne and has three children, two who have recently moved to Brisbane.
"My daughter is just about due in her pregnancy, I tried to convince her to stay in Gladstone and have the baby here in Gladstone, where I know she would be well looked after."
